Turn the box over and put an extra layer of tape around the openings of the box. Once it has been reinforced, place crumpled up paper in the bottom of the box to add padding. In order to prevent the items in your boxes from getting crushed, always label the outside of the boxes as fragile.

• Protect with Packing Paper: Wrap each plate individually in a piece of packing paper. When storing dishes, the more packing paper you use, the better.
• Pack the Plates Vertically: Place the plates vertically inside of the box. Storing the plates vertically inside of the box will best protect the plates during transportation and storage.
• Pack Heaviest to Lightest: When packing your box, you want to place the heaviest items on the bottom and the lighter items on the top. This means that plates should always go towards the bottom of the box with bowls and glasses on top.

How to Pack Bowls for Moving

• Wrap with Packing Paper: Wrap the bowls with packing paper to protect them during storage. Secure the packing paper around the bowls with a piece of tape.
• Store the Bowls on their Sides: Always store your bowls laying on their side. This will help to protect them from damage during moving or storage.

How to Pack Glasses for Moving

• Roll and Secure: Place the glass on a piece of packing paper and roll it until the glass in completely covered. Tuck any ends of paper into the opening of the glass. Repeat this for all of your glasses.
• Add Glasses to Box: Place your wrapped glasses inside of the box. Fill the box until there’s only a few inches of space left and then add more crumpled up newspaper.
