Halloween Self Storage Tips

Halloween has come and gone, and it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to deck the halls when you still have your spooky ghost décor cluttering your house. Halloween storage doesn’t have to be scary. Use these tips to store your Halloween decorations with ease!

Use a Halloween Storage Bin

Storage bins are a smart solution for Halloween storage. These containers are air tight, keeping vermin from ruining your beloved decorations. They can also be colored corresponding to each particular holiday. That way, when it comes time to decorate for Halloween again next year, you can easily just grab the orange and black storage boxes knowing everything you need will be inside of them.

Clearly Label All Halloween Storage Totes

Imagine how frustrating it would be next year if you have to spend time digging through all of your Halloween storage containers looking for your favorite bloody Scream mask. Give your future-self a break and spend less time digging, and more time scaring, by simply labeling each box with a list of the contents.

Wrap Up All Lights

The black and orange lights used to decorate during Halloween are fun for the season, but can be tricky to store. If these lights aren’t stored correctly, they will be tangled or broken for the next season. Carefully wrap all lights around an old wrapping paper tube to keep them neat and organized for the next year.

Place Smaller Items Inside of Larger Items

Take advantage of any free space you have by storing smaller items inside of larger items. For example, put the small Halloween trinkets you normally place on your mantle, shelves or TV stands inside of your trick-or-treat pumpkin. This will not only save space in your storage containers, it will also help to protect the smaller items from being jumbled around inside of the storage bin.

Wrap Up Any Fragile Items

Wrap any fragile items, or items that may be more susceptible to damage, in layers of bubble wrap. This small step will help to protect your items from damage when you’re moving the storage containers.

Store Your Storage Bins in a Dark and Dry Location

Be cautious of the location you choose to store your Halloween decorations. Storing the boxes in a location that receives direct sunlight can cause your decorations to fade. Storing the boxes in a damp location can create a breeding ground for mold and mildew.

Do You Need a Place to Store Your Halloween Storage Containers

Do you need space to store all of your Halloween decorations? A storage unit is a smart way to keep seasonal items you don’t use often out of the house, and in a secure location. We have storage units ranging in sizes from 5X5 to 10X30, so no matter how small or large your storage need is, we’ve got you covered.
