The Top Fitness Equipment Storage Solutions
Let’s face it, most of the time workout equipment is bulky and not made for convenient storage. Pair this with needing multiple pieces of equipment to get a fully body workout, and you’re in for a storage nightmare. Many people are familiar with the workout equipment storage struggle. In order to have your desired home gym, you may have to get creative with your storage solutions.
If you are currently using your workout equipment, it may not be a bad idea to store it out in the open. However, the problem arises when your treadmill suddenly is a hamper and your weight rack becomes an extra clothes rack. Don’t sweat it, try these workout equipment storage tips!
- Get Rid of Seasonal Items: Any equipment that is only used occasionally should be tucked away during the off season. This includes items like football gear, bicycles, baseball and volleyball equipment. Before storing any sports or workout equipment, make sure it is both clean and dry. Equipment that is ready for storage can be put in an airtight container and stored somewhere out of the way.
- Talk to the Manufacturer: When buying new workout equipment, ask the manufacturer what is suggested for storing the equipment. Workout equipment storage is a common problem, one that has most likely been addressed before. If you’re lucky, your workout equipment may come with a built-in storage solution.
- Racks, Hooks and Bins: Save space by hanging up items. This includes yoga mats, boxing gloves, bands, etc. Racks and hooks are discrete and can be a smart way to keep you organized. If you aren’t able to attach racks and hooks to your walls, consider storing your stretch bands, boxing gloves and small weights in a container and stowing it away in a closet or under the bed.
- Buy with Your Space in Mind: If you are living in a situation with limited space, buy accordingly. Look for equipment that can double as another piece of workout equipment. This may include items like resistance bands, adjustable dumbbell sets and exercise balls. Also consider buying equipment that can easily be broken down or has attachments that can easily be removed.
